If you thought you knew everything there was to know about DBD tokens, think again.
Below we outline the history, utilities and future use cases for DBD as part of our web3 insurance platform.
2018
The first contract for the DBD token was deployed by the Day By Day team on Ethereum back in 2018. This launch signalled that our world-first web3 insurance platform was on the way!
2019–2021
After 3 years of constant building, hustling, grinding, getting a team together and surviving the COVID lockdowns in Australia, in 2021 the first bridging was performed!
In October 2021, we bridged about 11,000,000 tokens on Polygon as the fees were 95% less than the main Ethereum contract to start onboarding retail investors.
This was followed by some of our very first airdrops! 10 DBD were airdropped to a handful of addresses who followed Day By Day on Twitter.
In December 2021, we launched on our first exchange — Bitmart! We had a few competitions with them and still work with the Bitmart team to promote both the DBD tokens and our insurance NFTs.
2022
In February 2022, we were one of the few successful recipients of a grant from the Algorand Foundation which accelerated the development of our web3 insurance platform.
We launched DBD tokens on Algorand in May 2022 followed by our native staking platform where you can stake DBD on either the Algorand or Polygon chains. The pools are capped at 2 million DBD each.
In September, along with the release of our testnet NFT minting, we launched a few third party staking pools on Tinyman and Yieldly to help us grow our community and exposure.
In November we launched our Humble farm after feedback from our community. We also moved our Tinyman liquidity to Humble.
2023+
And what will the future of DBD involve?
